Connect your FedEx account

Connect your FedEx account to Zonos using the FedEx Compatible Solutions Program (REST) integration with multi-factor authentication.

Easily connect your FedEx account with a secure, verified sign-in through Zonos Dashboard. Our integration with FedEx uses their REST API to pull your live shipping rates so you get the most accurate shipping and landed cost calculations.

Prerequisites 

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A FedEx account number
  • Access to the email or phone number associated with your FedEx account (for PIN-based verification), or a FedEx invoice from the last 90 days (for invoice verification)

Enter account information

  1. Navigate to Settings > Rates > Carrier Accounts in the Zonos Dashboard.
  2. Click Connect next to FedEx.
  3. Fill in the following required fields:

  1. Enter your shipping address. If your contact address is the same, check "Contact address is same as shipping address". Otherwise, uncheck it and enter a separate contact address.
  2. Review and accept the FedEx licensing agreement:
    1. Click the "FedEx licensing agreement" button to read the full agreement.
    2. After reviewing, check the box to confirm you agree to the Zonos terms of service and FedEx licensing agreement.
  3. Click Next to proceed to verification.

Choose a verification method

FedEx requires multi-factor authentication (MFA) to verify account ownership. Select one of the following methods:

SMS PINA PIN is sent via text message to the phone number on your FedEx account.
Phone call PINYou receive a phone call with a PIN to the number on your FedEx account.
Invoice verificationVerify using details from a FedEx invoice received within the last 90 days.
I have contacted FedEx tech supportIf you have already called FedEx tech support at 877-339-2774 to authorize the connection, select this option to bypass MFA verification.

Select your preferred method and click Next.

Complete verification

What you see next depends on the verification method you chose.

PIN verification (Email, SMS, or Phone call)

  1. Check your email, text messages, or answer the phone call from FedEx.
  2. Enter the PIN you received into the Verification PIN field.
  3. Click Verify.

Invoice verification

Enter the following details from a recent FedEx invoice (received within the last 90 days):

Click Verify to complete the connection.

FedEx tech support

If you are unable to complete MFA verification using the methods above, you can call FedEx tech support at 877-339-2774 to have them authorize the connection on their end. Once authorized, select "I have contacted FedEx tech support" and click Next to complete the process.

Note: Contacting FedEx tech support can only bypass the MFA verification step. Address validation in step 1 cannot be bypassed.

Start using your FedEx rates

Now that you have your FedEx account connected, do the following to begin using your live FedEx rates for shipping quotes:

  1. Create shipping zones - Shipping zones allow you to have different service levels, rules, and shipping rates for different countries or groups of countries. There is no limit to how many shipping zones you can create.
  2. Enable FedEx service levels - Enabling service levels in the zones that you want to use them in allows you to offer different service levels to different zones.
  3. Test your shipping - Test your shipping to make sure everything is working properly and being displayed as intended before being used in production or going live on your website.

Edit your FedEx account 

After your account is connected, you can update your FedEx account number at any time:

  1. Navigate to Settings > Rates > Carrier Accounts.
  2. Click Edit on your FedEx account.
  3. Update the account number and accept the licensing agreement.
  4. Click Save.

Editing does not require MFA re-verification.

Troubleshooting 

MFA verification failed

If you encounter an error during the MFA verification step, a banner will appear suggesting you contact FedEx tech support. You can:

  1. Call FedEx tech support at 877-339-2774 to have them authorize the connection.
  2. After authorization, select "I have contacted FedEx tech support" from the verification method list to complete the process.

Note: This only applies to the MFA verification step. Issues with address validation in step 1 cannot be bypassed through tech support.

MFA session expired

MFA sessions have a limited time window. If your session expires, you will be returned to the verification method selection screen. Simply select a method and try again.

PIN not received

  • Email PIN: Check your spam/junk folder. Ensure the email on your FedEx account is correct.
  • SMS PIN: Ensure the phone number on your FedEx account can receive text messages.
  • Phone call PIN: Make sure you are available to answer the call at the number on your account.

If none of the above work, try using Invoice verification or contact FedEx tech support at 877-339-2774 as an alternative.
